Mission Statement:   Knives are more of a rugged type built for use.  Knives are designed for actual use and made to be durable and to be used and not in a display case.  Dedicated to Knives that are made from the old ways using a forge and hammer.  All knives are made out of High Carbon steel.  Most are made from Leaf  Springs from vehicles.  Knives are to be rugged and functional over "pretty".
I am adding the addition of American Made products to my list.  I will be actively seeking American start up Hobbyists for joint ventures.  I have found many skilled people in the past few years.  Bow Makers, knife makers leather workers, etc and look forward to help them get started.
ANNOUNCEMENT  05/12/2012
I will be traveling to San Antonio the weekend of May 17 through 19 to meet with www.grassburr.com.  One of the reasons is to design a SHEATH FOR THE 5CHIRRA as I am getting enough requests to look into the viability of this.
I also plan to travel to Nepal this December and will be closed the last week of the year 2013.  I will be looking into what can be done to improve production from KHHI, introduce some new designs and visit old friends.

ANNOUNCEMENT  12/16/2012
I have some hard decisions to make this year.
Delivery and Cost Obstacles to overcome:
I must increase my sales to grow. To do this, I need to increase the number of knives made and I cannot do this alone.
Cost is also an issue. Some of my knife designs are too expensive for many and sales have been lost due to price. I also must maintain an inventory of piece parts.
KHHI has aproached me with a business opportunity.  They will begin making my designs for me.  They will still be made from 5160 and still forged.  This will also allow me to keep costs down and much of the money will go to Gurkha's that fought beside our soldiers who receive no benefits after service.
As of 2013, Frank Bowie and Apache will be made in Nepal.

This combined with elbow soreness and I am not getting any younger, seems to be a best fit.
Knives would still be hand forged and made from leaf springs. These will be of the same quality and would be guaranteed.

Many Thanks to www.GrassBurr.com for providing me the opportunity to begin a business.  Their experience and guidance have been tremendous help.  Please visit them for Gun Mount and Holster Needs.
Below are early Pictures of Myself - Working by my Coal Forge.  I made this forge by mixing adobe (sand, clay and wood ash) to shape the inside of a large tub.  I placed a 1 inch inside diameter pipe in the bottom and drilled 1/4 inch holes.  A blower was attached (not in picture).  I get up to 1700 degrees using this.  I do most of my forging during the cool hours of the night.
I am mostly self taught as I was unable to find an apprenticeship, but I did receive a lot of information from Nepalese Kamis.  I have a box of scrap metal as proof.   I did learn a lot about knife making from Gurkha's and Nepalese knife makers.
The hat is to keep my hair from catching fire.  Don't ask how I  learned this valuable lesson.  I do some of my work at night to avoid Texas Heat.
